Petworth Film House is a not-for-profit community organisation run by Volunteers and managed by a committee of local people, our objectives are to give each film-night audience a highly engaging and memorable experience, we also seek to promote local community interest in film as an art and as a medium of information, education and entertainment.

All proceeds go directly to fund improvement projects in Leconfield Hall.  So far PFH has contributed to insulating the roof, has fully funded the installation of hi speed internet and wifi throughout the entire building, and is now working towards installing facilities to enable live broadcast events to be shown, as well as upgrading the halls audio system.

At the beginning, back in 2012 , we needed to ensure we delivered a truly memorable experience, and therefore set about raising funds to improve the facilities in Leconfield Hall.  This included upgrading the existing projection and sound equipment which now give a large, 4.3m wide screen in full HD with superb sound.

Since 2012, PFH has been bringing a wide range of films to local audiences, who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and sense of local community.

The Leconfield Hall is an important part of Petworth’s heritage, it is a Grade II listed building and is both home to Petworth Film House and our nominated Charity.

The management of The Leconfield Hall is entrusted to a committee of trustees and has charitable status recognised by the Charity Commission (Registered Charity No. 305402). The Hall is in constant use for public meetings, concerts, theatre and adult education classes. It holds public entertainment, theatre and cinema licenses but like many old buildings it is a financial struggle to meet ever stricter public health and safety conditions, as such the Hall is reliant on charitable donations.
